I am an experienced and successful business woman in the Science and Technology sector. My career started with a PhD in Biochemistry and, after 13 years working as a research scientist, holding academic positions in the USA and Denmark, I decided to make a career transition from academia into the industrial sector. I then spent 18 years in the Food and Drink sector and, during this time, I made another career transition from a technical consultant role to the management track. After a few years leading teams, I was promoted to the Director level and spent 13 years in strategic leadership roles and also served several years as an Non Executive Director for a Surrey County Council Board.
Taking my career forward again, I decided to create a portfolio career to provide me with more flexibility, a better work-life balance and new challenges. I used my experience as a Diploma-qualified Executive Coach as a basis to establishing my own coaching business, but I also work as an Associate for the Institute of Mechanical Engineers delivering management training and am a Fellow and Trustee Board member for the Institute of Brewing and Distilling. |
From my own experience in making successful career transitions, and also my experience as to how technical and expert careers work and change over time, I am always very excited to support others to develop their careers. Coaching was one of the catalysts that spurred me on, and I am keen to bring this tool to my clients as they consider career moves and make them happen.
