Communicating and tailoring technical proposals to a non technical audience

One of the key challenges often identified by technical experts is presenting technical proposals to a non technical audience. How to explain a technology? How to get the concept across? This workshop is designed to provide the tools to communicate technical proposals effectively, and also to analyse how to tailor the proposal according to the audience and put it in the context of the company strategy.

The format of this one day workshop is very interactive, and will involve the practical application of tools to cover the following topics:
  • Communicating technology without the use of jargon
  • Linking the technical concept into the company strategy
  • Clarifying the benefits to the company according to the business needs
  • Tailoring the content of the proposal according to the stage (phase gate) and intended audience
  • Identifying the stakeholders, and getting their engagement
  • Creating and structuring a proposal that is clear, concise and compelling

The aim of the workshop is to create a tool box and analytical methodology that technical experts can apply to create a tailored approach to their technical proposals and ensure that they fit with the company's processes and strategy. Although it will cover aspects of what to include in a  proposal, and how to structure it, please note that this is not a presentation skills course and it will not cover aspects such as 'style'!

Who is the course designed for:
  • Technical managers or technical experts who are looking to create a more strategic and tailored approach to communicating technical proposals.
Length of course:
  •  1 day
  • Groups of up to 8 participants
Price
